A Child’s World: A Systemic Approach to Working with Children at Risk and their Families
A one-day Children in Wales course
Central to the current Welsh programmes of Families First and Integrated Family Support Services is a view that services should work ‘holistically’ with the families in need of additional support. If we are working to make lives better and safer for children and young people, it is vital we work as much as possible within a ‘systemic’ framework which means supporting parents, carers, siblings, extended family and the wider circle of professionals around the child.
The course will offer opportunities for discussion and debate with practitioners who are interested in developing their understanding and skills.
The course will consider and explore:
– The ecological perspective of family work
– The skills and strategies which will underpin child welfare and wellbeing
– Aspects of attachment issues within families
– Crisis intervention work
– Safeguarding and professional roles
COST:
Members £115
Non-members £135
