Welsh libraries are teaming up with The Reading Agency to promote the link between regular reading and better health and wellbeing as part of the Living Well in Wales campaign supported by Welsh Government. Welsh libraries are invited to get involved with the ‘Dip into reading’ public information campaign, which aims to promote small amounts of reading each day to support people’s mental health and wellbeing.
The campaign launches in public libraries across Wales on 16th January 2023 and will run over six weeks. Each week will focus on a different theme to showcase how small amounts of reading each day can support mental health and wellbeing, with benefits including better sleep, decreased stress and reduced feelings of loneliness.
Libraries across Wales can access an activity pack including practical tips and ideas to encourage local communities to dip into reading through book swaps, reading groups, author visits and more. There is also a bilingual comms toolkit including social media messaging, newsletter copy, digital assets, infographic and A4 poster to help libraries promote the campaign through their digital communications. Download the campaign resources here.
