A Creative Arts Networking event is taking place on the 9th July bringing together creative arts organisations, commissioners and funders and service managers and practitioners from statutory and third sector organisations working with children, young people and families in Cardiff. The focus on the event will be:
- to promote the work of local Creative Arts organisations and their offer to professionals supporting children, young people and families
- to create opportunities for partnership working by bringing together commissioners, funders and creative arts providers
- to link creative arts groups to practitioners from schools, youth settings and family support teams to develop projects and provisions across the city
- to raise awareness of the benefits that creative arts can offer to young people, families and professionals, as diversionary activities, building resilience or providing therapeutic support
- to facilitate discussions about how creative arts organisations can link in with schools and the new curriculum, and how we can ensure that communities in areas of economic deprivation have access to the creative arts
There will be lots of opportunity to hear from organisations working across South Wales, including the Arts Council for Wales, the centre for Storytelling at USW, Breathe Creative and the Centre for Creative Economy.
