“Community Matters”:
Living and Coping with Dementia

This funding opportunity is now closed.

Small Grant Announcement

Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) has received funding from Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB) to collaborate with community groups supporting people experiencing dementia. We are particularly eager to work with small grassroots organisations rooted in their local communities to better understand the needs and interests of people living with dementia.

Project Aims

By engaging with individuals and groups, we want to:

  1. Hear from people with dementia to understand their priorities and ensure their voices, and those of their carers, families, and friends, shape local services.
  2. Improve access to dementia support services and identify and respond to any gaps.
  3. Strengthen connections between individuals and service providers to support longer-term engagement and collaboration.

Funding Available

We will fund up to six organisations, each receiving up to £1,250.

What will funded organisations be expected to do?

  1. Attend an in-person planning workshop on 16 May, 14:00-16:00, to discuss project delivery and reporting and to answer your questions.
  2. Host two two-hour focus groups with 12–15 participants.
  3. Engage an additional 12–15 individuals through one-to-one conversations.
  4. Share updates and initial findings with C3SC.
  5. Submit a final report on your project to C3SC by 20 June 2025 at 5 pm.

Planned outcomes:

C3SC will summarise the findings from the reports that the participating groups share with us. We will share the summary report with Cardiff and Vale UHB to help develop a role connecting people living with Dementia to local services and activities. Participating groups will also receive a copy of the report and will have the option to be invited to future discussions about how we can work together to support people with dementia.

Get Involved:

If your organisation would like to participate, please complete the Expression of Interest form by 5 pm on Thursday, 08 May 2025.
