CAVUHB – Reminder to Patients and Visitors Travelling to and From our Hospitals

As our hospital sites get busier we are seeing more traffic to and from our main hospitals which has meant a higher demand for car parking spaces.

With construction work taking place across both University Hospital of Wales and at University Hospital Llandough we have needed to reduce and reallocate car parking spaces in order to increase capacity for some clinics to help reduce patient waiting times.

At University Hospital of Wales we have reallocated Blue Badge spaces to the ground floor of the multi-storey car park and at University Hospital Llandough, Blue Badge parking can be found in Car Parks 1 and 4, as well as in front of the Children’s Centre in Car Park 9.

With car parking already limited at our hospitals, we understand the challenges faced by many of patients and visitors, as well as staff, in accessing our sites by car.

At University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough we have allocated patient and visitor parking areas. While parking remains free, it may not always be possible to find a space at our sites, especially during peak times of the day.

We would like to remind all those travelling to us that they can use the free Park & Ride service which runs Monday to Friday, all day at frequent times.

If you are able to use the Park & Ride, you will help reduce the number of vehicles coming to our sites, which can help to ease congestion and improve air quality. This service is part of our commitment as a Health Board to sustainable and active travel. We also actively encourage people visiting our sites to also cycle and walk where possible.
