What’s the funding for?
The funding is to ensure period dignity for those who menstruate from low-income households in the Cardiff local authority area. The fund aims to ensure low-income households have access to free of charge period products that are accessible in the most practical and dignified way possible.
Maximum Value £2,000.00
We do have to spend a minimum of 75% of the total amount on purchase eco-friendly period products (i.e. re-usable products and/or plastic free). These can be bought online or even at your local shopping centre.
What can the money be spent on?
You can buy and distribute:
- Sanitary Products – tampons, sanitary towels, menstrual cups, reusable sanitary knickers or suitable alternatives
- Sanitary disposal bags
- Storage purses / wet bags for use with reusable products
- Wet Wipes – only to be offered if someone is away from home and requires them for hygiene purposes.
- Clothing to be provided where a homeless person does not have a change of clean clothing available and menstrual bleeding has stained or soiled clothing.
Reporting
We shall ensure that we submit the information needed above by 4th October 2024 (covering period 1 1st April 2024 – 30th September 2024) and 7th April 2025 (covering period 1st October 2024 – 31st March 2025) with evidence of spend.
