Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is keen to recruit someone to provide a carer perspective, to join their Stakeholder Reference Group (SRG).

The SRG is an advisory group to the Health Board, whose purpose is to facilitate engagement and active debate with stakeholders from across communities served by the Board. Members do not represent their organisation or sector, but provide a perspective to help shape Health Board thinking and planning on a wide range of its business.
The Group is made up of members from different external partner agencies, organisations and sectors (including third sector, local authority elected members, fire and rescue, university, UHB volunteer, independent care sector and police). The SRG also has a place on its membership for a carer. The current member’s term of office is coming to a close and the Health Board is keen to recruit someone else who can bring this important perspective to the Group.
The 2 hour meetings take place every other month and provide an exciting opportunity for members to influence Health Board thinking on a diverse range of topics. The SRG is chaired by a third sector member and has senior level input from the Health Board including the Director of Planning. In the last year, the SRG has received presentations from senior clinicians and managers on issues including GP sustainability, the Dementia strategy, developments in community services, mental health services and car parking at hospital sites. Presenters bring questions to the meeting, to support constructive discussion that can shape thinking on key issues.
The SRG is able to cover the cost of reasonable travel expenses incurred from attending meetings.
If you would like to put your name forward to join the SRG as the carer member, or talk to one of us about our experience on the SRG, please contact Linda Pritchard at linda@gvs.wales or by telephone on 01446 741706.
The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday, 25th October.
