Awareness Raising on the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 – training course

This Cardiff Council training is open to all staff who provide a service within the Social Care Sector in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Venues:
Cardiff Venue: Channel View Centre, Jim Driscoll Way, Cardiff CF11 7HB. 
Vale of Glam Venue: Hebron Hall, Cross Common Rd, Dinas Powis CF64 4YB

Times:
Cardiff sessions will be 9:30 – 11:30 or 13:00 – 15:00 and Vale of Glamorgan sessions will be 10.30 -12.30 or 13.30 – 15.30. It is only necessary to attend one session.

Aim of training:

  • To provide an overview of the Act
  • To pave the way for the implementation of the Act
  • To provide a foundation for more in-depth and specialist training, as necessary

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop participants will:

  • Know about the history and development of the Act
  • Be aware of the parts and features of the Act
  • Appreciate key differences in the future emphasis of care and support
  • Know the timetable for implementation
  • Begin to identify changes to practice
  • Begin to identify further training needs

 

How to book:

Training courses run by Cardiff Council are now only accessible via the ‘Cardiff Council Academy Online on Learning Pool’. Each course participant must have an account on the site in order to make a booking and as managerial authorisation is required for each course booking, a line manager or training co-ordinator within your organisation must also have an account. Each account requires a unique username and email address.
