On behalf of Cardiff Council, we are sharing the following grant which is now open for applications and is funded by the Welsh Government. It aims to support organisations working with individuals experiencing financial hardship to provide free period products locally.
Key information
- Maximum grant: £2,000
- Minimum 80% spend on eco-friendly or reusable products
- Up to 5% can be used for related educational materials
Funding can be used to purchase and distribute items such as:
- Period products (e.g. pads, tampons, period pants, menstrual cups)
- Disposal bags
- Storage items for reusable products
- Wet wipes (where needed when away from home)
- Clothing (in specific circumstances, e.g. homelessness)
Please note the funding cannot be used for:
- Incontinence products
- Postpartum products
- General hygiene items or storage/disposal infrastructure
We are particularly interested in working with organisations that can:
- Provide safe, discreet and accessible distribution points within community settings
- Support individuals who may face barriers to accessing products elsewhere
- Help raise awareness and reduce stigma around menstrual health
