One in seven properties in Wales is at risk of flooding. To help protect people, homes and businesses, we want our flood risk advice and warning services to be accessible to everyone.
Cardiff is Wales’ most ethnically diverse city, and many people in the area speak languages other than English or Welsh. To reach more people, we piloted a social media campaign in Arabic, Polish, Bengali, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Urdu, Italian, Malayalam and Farsi.
We are currently translating our flood risk advice leaflets so people can get information in the language they’re most comfortable with.
If you live in a flood risk area, creating a flood plan is one of the best steps you can take. Our template guides you through what to consider so if the worst happens, you are ready to act. You can download the flood plan template in several languages or request a printed copy here.
