Health and Care Research Wales has announced a series of key developments across the research landscape in Wales.

Innovative dementia research: Wales is leading the UK-first SANDBOX study, combining blood biomarkers, genetic testing, and artificial intelligence to improve early diagnosis of dementia.
Ten years of impact: The organisation’s 2024–25 Annual Report highlights a decade of achievement, with nearly 300,000 participants involved in research and £34.5 million secured in new grants.
Research awards: The 2025 Health and Care Research Wales Awards celebrated excellence across public involvement, research impact, and innovation.
