Members Spotlight: Gloucestershire Council

Gloucestershire County Council’s ‘Health and Wellbeing Stakeholder’s Group’

Last year, during our ‘Employee Wellbeing, Emerging Trends’ webinar, we discussed the introduction of Corporate Wellbeing Groups. On this subject, Gloucestershire County Council’s ‘Health and Wellbeing Stakeholder’s Group’ stands out as a great example of effective implementation.

The council’s stakeholder group, which brings together representatives from across the organisation, was formed to oversee the delivery of the council’s health and wellbeing policy, identify areas where services are lacking, and set strategic goals for workforce health.

This inclusive approach not only ensures a comprehensive understanding of the diverse wellbeing needs across the organisation—from office-based workers to those working in the community—but also bridges the gap between HR, senior management, and staff.

Furthermore, by meeting regularly, the group keeps wellbeing firmly on the corporate agenda, embedding it into the wider organisational culture. This ensures that resources are allocated where they are most needed and that staff voices are heard and valued.
