#VolunteersWeek Day 3 – Employer supported and skilled volunteering

Each day people from across the UK use their professional skills and knowledge to make a difference through volunteering. Many employers also support their staff to give back to their communities through volunteering and businesses provide vital support to the work of the voluntary sector. Today we want to recognise the continued contributions of skilled and employer supported volunteers by showcasing their impact around the UK.

One of the organisations we would like to highlight and say thanks to is Watts Truck and Van who have provided extensive support to their communities throughout the pandemic. See below some of the activities they were able to support with:

  • Donating PPE to Cerebral Palsy Wales, ASD Rainbows, local care homes to our 3 depots, such as Penylan House & Ty Draw Lodge in Cardiff, April Court in Swansea and Tregwilym Lodge in Newport.
  • Money was donated to Cardiff & Newport Food Banks, Dementia Wales, Breast Cancer Wales, the Down’s Syndrome Association and the British Heart Foundation.
  • The Ebbw Vale Wheelchair Sports Club and the Wales mixed-ability Cheerleading Team

We hope you are able to give recognition to some of your skilled volunteers this Volunteers Week.
