Skills-sharing Workshops

Our workshops have been growing even more in the last few months. We run around 17 different workshops a week and have something for everyone. We have been able to develop some new and exciting ones such as Creating Time for Compassionate Self-Care with Natalie (Wednesdays 7.30 – 9pm) and Tahitian Dance with Hinatea (Thursdays 6 – 7pm). These workshops, and more, are open to all women and are easy to sign up for on our Eventbrite.

Peer Support Groups

Why not come along to the new All Women Peer Support Coffee Catch Ups?

Tuesdays 11-11:30
Thursdays 4-4:30
Starting the first week of May!

We believe in women supporting women, and that strong woman can build more strong women. This peer support group is an informal place to meet and connect with other women over a cuppa. Any woman from any walk of life is welcome to attend.

There is a range of Peer Support Groups available from the Women’s Centre and our Peer Facilitators will be able to give you more information at the session on our other survivor-led and trauma-informed groups.

Our coffee catch-ups, workshops and events we run are open to all women but are especially suitable if you have experienced domestic abuse, controlling and coercive behaviour, sexual violence/abuse, sexual harassment or assault, stalking, forced marriage, “honour-based” violence, or any other form of violence against women and girls. You do not need to have used our services before to attend our sessions.

“Being a part of the Peer Support Group is helping more than I had ever imagined it would, I was unsure whether I should join at first because I really wasn’t sure what to expect but the group and the Peer Support workers have been so welcoming, I leave each session feeling empowered, motivated and connected with other women.”

Please contact Cicelie, our Peer Support Worker at peer.support@cardiffwomensaid.org.uk for more information.

Volunteering

**New Volunteering Opportunity**

We are currently looking for volunteers to support a few of our skills-sharing workshops on Zoom:

– Body Art Therapies with Dominika Tues 1-3 pm
– Art with Alix Weds 10:30am-12:30pm
– Creative Writing with Alix Weds 1.30 – 3.20 pm

All workshops are delivered by trained sessional workers – workshops facilitators – and as a volunteer, you would be helping facilitate the sessions by letting participants in/out of the waiting room, monitoring the chat, muting/unmuting participants when necessary and reporting any issues to staff members (who will always be available to jump onto Zoom) if they arise.

If this is something that you or someone you know would be interested in, please let our volunteer team know and they would be happy to discuss it with you in more detail: volunteers@cardiffwomensaid.org.uk
