Level 1 course in Philosophy for Children (P4C)

If you want to get learners thinking critically and creatively and increase their participation and engagement in lessons, then this 2-day course is for you. It provides a full introduction to the Philosophy for Children (P4C) method of education.
P4C has proven benefits and can enrich the delivery of Literacy, Thinking Skills, ESDGC, the Welsh Baccalaureate, PSE and many subject areas. Our trainer, Martin Pollard, is a Registered Trainer with SAPERE, which operates a pan-UK network of approved P4C providers.
Open discussion and collaboration are encouraged throughout the course, which includes the following elements:
- Introduction to the theory and benefits of P4C
- Practical sessions – learn through trying out the P4C method
- Effective facilitation of philosophical enquiry
- Guidance on curriculum links and the timetabling of P4C
- Advice on useful resources
This non-residential course is charged, which covers:
- 2 full days of training
- Get a copy of SAPERE’s comprehensive Level 1 Handbook and access to a range of on-line resources
- Course handouts
- Lunch and refreshments on both days
