Family Fund FREE iPad Workshops
You might be interested to learn that Family Fund are hosting iPad workshops at their information days in Cardiff on Tuesday 31 October. All workshops are free to parent carers raising disabled or seriously ill children who have an iPad. They are designed to help people get the most from their tablets and use them in ways that support their child and will cover some, or all, of the following:
- Customising the iPad to address any vision, hearing, motor and learning needs of the child
- Parental controls and guided access
- Locating and accessing resources
- Using built-in apps to develop reading, writing, speaking and research skills.
The trainer will be available after each workshop to help with any difficulties parents might be experiencing when using their iPad, and to answer any iPad-related questions they have.
Anyone wishing to attend should complete the appropriate online registration form:
30 October: Swansea (workshop at 11am)
31 October: Cardiff (workshop at 10.30am)
Places are limited and so we encourage people to act quickly if they would like to come along. They should bring their iPad with them to the session.
Please note that the training is only appropriate for iPads and isn’t relevant to other makes of tablet. It’s also preferred if children are not present at workshops; the training is aimed at adults caring for a disabled or seriously ill child.
