A one-day Children in Wales course
This course offers an in depth exploration of the nature of attachment formation difficulties and how early adversity will influence a child’s ability to manage in early years and school settings. Highlighting the critical role that teachers and day care staff can play in supporting children with attachment difficulties, and their families, primarily through adopting an attachment-focussed approach to their relationships with children, classroom management and responses to concerning behaviours. The course is suitable for all who work in early years and educational settings.
The day will include:
- An overview of Attachment Formation Theory
- Consideration of the possible conflict between the goals of learning and attachment
- Discussion of different types of Attachment Formation
- Identifying attachment-related behaviours ~ in children and adults!
- Caring for and responding to children with attachment difficulties
