Free Mental Health Awareness training

17th March 2015

Facilitated by Cardiff Mind and organised by Cardiff Council, this one-day course is for staff and volunteers working in social care.

The learning outcomes of the course are:

  • Participants will be able to identify the differences between mental health and mental illness
  • Participants will be able to recognise signs and symptoms of mental illnesses
  • Participants will have a broader understanding of depression, anxiety disorders, self-injury and psychosis
  • Participants will be introduced to the Recovery Model and will gain a better understanding of its context
  • Participants will be introduced to methods of communication with people who are mentally unwell
  • Participants will be asked to consider their own mental wellbeing and how to stay safe

A Certificate of Attendance will be issued to participants who attend the whole session. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
