Deaf & Deafblind Awareness

8th July 2014 - 9th July 2014

This Summer, why not try a free Deaf & Deafblind Awareness course with Cardiff Met?
The aim of the course is for learners to gain an understanding of the effect of deafness and deafblindness on people and how communication between them and hearing / sighted people can be improved. By the end of the course you should be able to state appropriate statistics in the UK; understand the nature of deafness and deafblindness and their effect on communication; have a brief outline of related culture; demonstrate basic hand communication with deaf and deafblind people; explain the nature of lip reading; and describe the various aids to communication.
There are lots of courses to try this year, including all your favourites, plus some new ones to whet your appetite, such as textiles, poetry and street dance.
