C3SC training: Campaigning Workshop

18th June 2014 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

The Sheila McKechnie Foundation has partnered with C3SC to bring its quality training services to our members.

This essential one-day workshop is provided by UK campaigning charity The Sheila McKechnie Foundation and supported by the Tudor Trust. The vital course delivers knowledge and skills to develop an effective campaigning strategy to under-resourced, grassroots campaign groups and charities.

Founded in honour of late activist and Trade Union innovator, Sheila McKechnie, the SMF has a decade’s worth of experience delivering high-quality introductory level campaign workshops throughout the UK to equip people with the skills to bring about change at a local or national level.

This workshop provides your organisation with the vital skills on how to get your campaign message across:

– Framing the issue including the ‘elevator pitch’ exercise
– Defining the specific aim of the campaign
– Clarifying the objectives towards the campaign aim
– Working out who the key audiences are, including who can actually make (or prevent) the change you want to see.
– Establishing your key messages
– Deciding what (type of) tactics will be most effective
– Consideration of the timeline and project plan
– Recognising the importance of monitoring and evaluation, as part of the ongoing process of campaigning effectively.

By the end of the workshop, you will have the knowledge, skills and confidence to devise a clear campaign strategy for the issue(s) you care about, so that you can influence the decisions that affect your community most effectively.
