Diploma in Independent Advocacy – Mental Capacity Legislation: Level 3
This Carers Federation training course is based on the Level 3 Diploma in Independent Advocacy. You have the choice of either just doing the training course, or going on and get the Level 3 qualification.
This course is ideal for those advocates who have completed the Certificate in Independent Advocacy and wish to obtain the Diploma or if you are interested in Mental Capacity legislation but are not a practising Independent Mental Capacity Advocate (IMCA).
If you want to do the training course, but do not want to do the qualification you are under no obligation to do so.
This is a full-day workshop and the aim is for participants to:
– 1.Know how a best interest decision is made
– 2.Understand the powers and provisions of the Mental Capacity
– 3.Understand the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
– 4.Understand the role of an Independent Mental Capacity Advocate
– 5.Understand why a knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act is important for independent advocates
