The aim of this event is for Cardiff Council to engage and consult with partners, stakeholders and external bodies in order to produce an action plan with the aim of protecting and nurturing the Welsh language in Cardiff.

There will be a number of guest speakers, including the First Minister, as well as performances and group sessions during the day based on the six themes of the Welsh Government’s Welsh Language Strategy. The aim is to ensure that the action plan produced in conjunction with other organisations facilitates fulfilling the requirements of the Strategy in Cardiff.

This conference is the first in a series of events that aims to achieve the objectives of the Welsh Government’s Welsh Language Strategy and to prepare Cardiff for the Welsh Language Standards that will be introduced next year.
