Aims
– To provide an understanding of your organisational and individual roles and responsibilities in conducting Equality Impact Assessments.
– To recognise the importance of conducting EIAs and how they can help you ensure your services are accessible to as many service users as possible.
– To enable you to go away feeling confident to start conducting EIAs.
– Learning outcomes

You will be able to:

– Understand who is protected under the Equality Act 2010 (Protected Characteristic Groups)
– Recognise what an EIA template looks like
– Recognise the potential risks of failure to conduct an EIA or of unfair decisions made based on an EIA
– Identify the type of data and information you will need to conduct an EIA
– Identify when an EIA should be conducted
– Learn how to conduct an EIA and the issues that need to be taken into account
– Recognise the importance of involvement and consultation in this process
