About Real Opportunities
The Real Opportunities Project is a £15,431,057 initiative that aims to support 14-19 year olds with Severe and Complex Needs, a Learning Disability or an Autistic Spectrum Disorder in their transition to adulthood. The project is funded by the European Social Fund and match funded by the Local Authorities it is operating in. These are:
– Bridgend
– Caerphilly
– Carmarthenshire
– Merthyr
– Neath Port Talbot
The aim of the project is to raise the aspirations and motivation of young people, and increase their participation in learning, volunteering, employment and social opportunities, so fostering a greater degree of independence and inclusion in the community. Young people have the opportunity to access a variety of training and accredited courses and activities to support the development of personal, social and employment skills. Training and support is also offered to parents/carers, professionals and employers.
