Take control of your charity’s finances
These WCVA seminar double-headers aim to give you the tools and tips you need to get to grips with your charity’s finances.
Morning session: Charity accounts for trustees (9am – 12.30pm)
Charities have to cope with serious financial pressures, so it’s vital that trustees have a reasonable understanding of charity accounts and the financial information that they need to exercise proper governance.
This seminar will point you in the right direction and clarify many puzzles:
– A simple overview of the key elements of charity accounts – types of fund, activity based reporting, SOFAS, etc
– Common errors in charity accounts as reported by the Charity Commission
– What financial information should a trustee have to do the job properly
Lunch will be provided following the seminar.
Afternoon session: Financial management for trustees – adapting to survive (1.00pm – 4.30pm)
In times of financial pressure it is vital that charity trustees recognise how important it is for them to be in control of their finances, and learn to adapt in order to survive. This session will explain in practical terms exactly what this means and will explore possible strategies to help you not only survive, but prosper. We’ll help you lay the foundations of good financial management and examine the benefits of collaboration, mergers and how to respond to reduced or removed funding streams.
Lunch will be provided before the seminar, at 12.30pm.
In a tough economic climate you need all the know-how you can get to help your charity overcome its financial pressures, so make sure you book your place on these seminars fast.
