Maximising Inclusion of Refugee Skills in the Workforce – Lunchtime Information & Networking Session
FREE training from employers
Target audience: people in businesses and organisations of all sizes who recruit/supervise staff or promote the equalities/diversity agendas.
Refugees who have come to Wales in the process of seeking safety from persecution are a diverse group of people with a wide variety of skills and previous experience. DPIA provides awareness training to recruitment and supervisory personnel to:
a) increase employer knowledge of the diverse skill pool of refugees living in Wales;
b) discuss challenges that refugees may face when entering Wales’ labour force and ways in which individuals and employers can work toward positive employment and business outcomes; and
c) discuss strategies to ensure recruitment practices reach refugees in Wales.
Refugees contribute to this training by facilitating discussions and sharing personal experiences in the UK labour market.
(We can also provide resources regarding current documents which prove a person’s right to work in the UK if need be.)
12-1 Info session; 1-1:30 Optional networking session
Refreshments and tea/coffee provided. Feel free to bring your own lunch.
