The Public Law Project Wales Conference 2012
With unprecendented pressure on resources in the UK, it is now more important than ever for those in the voluntary sector to have a good knowledge of public law.
Public law describes the set of principles that govern the way public bodies make decisions. It covers areas as diverse as procurement, consultation processes, decisions as to whether benefits be granted to individuals or special consideration be given to specific groups in society.
The Public Law Project is an independent, national charity aiming to improve access to justice. It believes that having a greater knowledge of this field will help empower the voluntary sector – whether you are campaigning for policy change on a specific issue, or an adviser trying to find the best remedy for a client.
