International Treatment Effectiveness Programme (ITEP)

6th March 2012 - 7th March 2012

International Treatment Effectiveness Programme (ITEP) is a mechanism by which quality of drug treatment can be developed and measured in order to improve delivery of treatment services. It uses mind maps as a visual cognitive tool to help clients organise their thoughts and goals easily, by focusing on images and association. ITEP offers clients a visual way to communicate their current behaviour patterns and help them express what they cannot do through words alone. It can be used in care planning and motivational work from the early stages of treatment until the exit stage.

Find out more on the NewLink Wales website.By the end of this NewLink Wales course participants will have:

1. An understanding of the use of free mapping and structured mapping in personal, client work and supervision settings.
2. An understanding of the use of mind maps, ways of thinking and cycles, in motivation, bringing about change and the development of care plans.
3. An overview of how ITEP fits into the overall Recovery, Engagement and Life Skills (RELS) programme.
