Cardiff Council’s Environmental Scrutiny Committee is currently running a task & finish exercise to look into litter and fly tipping across the city. The piece of work will focus on what can be done to reduce litter and fly tipping in Cardiff, consider best practice across the United Kingdom and canvas public opinion on the issues.
As a part of this work Councillors have commissioned a survey to test how Cardiff residents and visitors feel about the problem litter and fly tipping. More specifically the survey will:
- Find out what the public think about a range of different litter and fly tipping types, for example, fast food litter and dog fouling;
- Test public awareness of existing regulations and penalties relating to litter and fly tipping;
- Ask what the Council can do to improve how it deals with litter and fly tipping problems.
To help us with this we would be grateful if you could share the survey across your organisation and any other parties who you think might be interested. The survey should only take five to seven minutes to complete. The on-line questionnaire can be accessed through the link below:

The findings of the survey will be considered by the Cardiff’s Environmental Scrutiny Committee when writing their report and recommendations. The Committee’s report and recommendations will be published in the autumn of 2018. Should you have further questions about the survey please contact me using the details provided below.
Alternatively, if you are interested in finding out more about the task & finish exercise please contact the Environmental Scrutiny Committee’s Principal Scrutiny Officer Richard Bowen by email on R.Bowen@cardiff.gov.uk.
Finally, by completing this survey you could become eligible to enter our draw to win vouchers for the Capital FM Cardiff Bay Beach Festival. Should you wish to enter the draw please provide your email address or a telephone number as requested in the online questionnaire.
