Physical activity and workplace health

This is the second forum meeting for employers in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The aim of the network is to support organisations to promote and protect the health and well-being of their employees.

The forum session on 4th July is focusing on physical activity at work, and how this can improve the health of the workforce and organisational performance. Speakers will present on information and services available to organisations to enable them to support their employees to be more active. The Healthy Working Wales team will be speaking about the national health and well-being award schemes (Corporate Health Standard and Small Workplace Health Award) which provide the structure for employers to support employees to be more active, and promote and protect their health and well-being.

There will also be speakers from Sustrans outlining free active travel planning support available to employers, and from Cardiff Council to promote the Corporate Active Card system which is available to employees in Cardiff.

There will also be workshop sessions and plenty of opportunity for employers to share good practice ideas and discuss different methods of promoting physical activity to staff.
