We would like to highlight Carole Dacey for winning the COVID-19 Volunteer Award at the Cardiff Volunteer Awards 2021 on the 12th November 2021.

Please see a short description as to why she was nominated and why she won the award:

Carole Dacey currently volunteers for the Salvation Army and has been volunteering for the past 7 years. Since the pandemic hit in March 2020 Carole has prepared over 70,000 meals and snacks for homeless people in need. As well as Carole’s commitment to our project she also engages in a host of other voluntary commitments, working at a Salvation Army charity shop, collecting donations for other worthy causes, feeding and supporting families in need in her local community, volunteering with her church and with the Samaritans. Carole’s commitment to supporting the work of The Salvation Army and the individual needs of our clients is extraordinary. It is because of volunteers like Carole that our project can run.

Thank you so much for all your hard work in supporting your local community.
