The British Red Cross are seeking Peer Buddies and Peer Educators and need to find more people by April 14th.

The British Red Cross is running life skill classes for newly arrived refugee families, helping them to understand rights and responsibilities, local culture, and how to access services.

The aim of the course is to support families with their integration, enabling them to access opportunities and to build relationships with their peers.

They are looking for the following traits:

  • A desire to use own experiences to help newly arrived refugee families.
  • Kindness and respect for people from different backgrounds.
  • A commitment to the preparation and delivery of a 10-week programme, with 2-3 sessions a week.

In return for your volunteering, you will receive training from the Red Cross, and benefit from the opportunity to build networks and develop your career potential. Expenses, such as travel, will be covered.
