The panel are excited to announce two successful projects from the 2024-25 Cardiff Youth Led Grant funding round:
- Friends Of Cymru Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia
- Skills and Volunteering Cymru – Young Carers Club
Ireoluwa Egbetola, Chair of the FOSCT Youth Committee said: “We are very excited to organise this event. Friends are very thankful to C3SC for being the ones to fund us on our first ever youth-led conference to spread awareness about Sickle cell and Thalassaemia and also recruiting young volunteers for our cause”.
Shamima Aktar, SVC Project Coordinator said: “We’re thrilled to have been awarded a grant from Cardiff YLG to support our Young Carers Club Project. This funding will make a real difference in the lives of our young carers who struggle to engage in activities and trips due to caring responsibilities.”
Arsha Kaur, Chair of the Youth Led Grant Panel said: “It’s been inspiring to see the passion and commitment to community and environmental change in every application. Our youth are truly the changemakers of today”.
In other news, Rohit Kamath our longest serving panel member left the panel in August, stepping back due to other commitments. Rohit said “Being a youth led grant panellist over the past 2 years helped me gain unique skills like assessing funding requests that I had not gained in my studies so far”. C3SC wishes Rohit all the best in his future endeavours and would like to thank him for his commitment over the last 2 years on the panel.
Stay tuned as we announce more funded projects over the coming weeks, and update you with the developments of each project!
