Unpaid Carers Respite Grants – ‘Try Something New’ (Cardiff)

Please see the attached posters in Welsh and English for a grant scheme that the Carers Gateway is currently administering in Cardiff (only).  The scheme is to provide unpaid carers with an alternative to the traditional forms of respite.

Please share these posters with your contacts and if you are aware of any unpaid carers that may benefit, let us know at [email protected]  The scheme is open to Cardiff residents aged 18 yrs and above, awards are restricted to one per household and to a maximum of £300.00 and we may require receipts as evidence of expenditure.  The scheme will be open until 31 March 2023 or when we reach the limit of the available funds, whichever is the sooner.

Examples of what can be applied for are:

  •   Short breaks or spa treatments
  •   Equipment or materials for hobbies (art supplies/musical instruments/fishing equipment etc.)
  •   Gym/virtual gym membership
  •    Exercise equipment
  •     National Trust/RSPB membership
