Jewish History Association of South Wales (JHASW) was established in 2017. Their mission is:
- To preserve the tangible and intangible heritage of Jewish communities in south Wales, including historical records, artefacts, and oral histories.
- To make this material available in local depositories and online, following recognised archive and museum cataloguing standards.
- To advance public education, to promote and raise awareness of Jewish heritage in South Wales.
The overall aim of JHASW’s work is to highlight the part the Jewish community has played in the life of south Wales and ensure that their heritage is recorded and preserved. To increase awareness and to change attitudes towards the Jewish community.
We are pleased to report that we supported the Jewish History Association of South Wales with their successful bid for almost £40,000!
C3SC provided support by:
- Assisting with writing a Sustainable Volunteering Strategy.
- Providing advice on how to recruit volunteers from minority ethnic communities and where to advertise the volunteering opportunities.
- Signposting to Volunteering Wales Main Grant Information Session.
- Reading through the application for the Volunteering Wales Main Grant (Round 1) and providing detailed comments and suggestions as to how to improve the application.
- Providing a letter of support for the Volunteering Wales Main Grant (Round 1).
Klavdija Erzen, JHASW Project Manager told us: “C3SC’s support was invaluable not only in helping to focus our thinking about this project but also in writing the application. Their unstinting and informed advice about general approaches and specific strategies helped us create a credible and successful bid.”
