Cardiff Volunteer Awards 2022 – Youth Led Grant Project of the Year Winner: Lioness Community Projects

We would like to highlight Lioness Community Projects for winning the Volunteer Group of the Year Award at the Cardiff Volunteer Awards 2022.

Lioness Community Projects (LCP) work with young people through outdoor activities and 1-2-1 support by liaising with parents and families via local worship centres and cultural groups to provide free support to young people with their school work, free tutoring, advice and guidance, mentoring and coaching them about their career choice and sports/physical activities – as means of empowering them to be responsible community members who will, in turn, support others, as ambassadors. LCP were able to engage with about 44 individuals including families. They teamed with another organisation to organise 3 visits and tours at the national museum in Cathays park and St Fagans. They also help run a successful programming course, increasing the number of participants and encouraging young people to get involved in volunteering.

Thank you so much for all your hard work in supporting your local community.
