We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in a funding bid to help us work in partnership with local health, housing and social care professionals to identify and support older people who have a health condition that is caused or made worse by their living conditions.
The service will support older people, over 60 years old, across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan living in any tenure property.
- A caseworker will visit the older person at home and assist with
- support with general repair and maintenance works that could be undertaken to improve the energy efficiency of their homes
- assistance to access grants, charitable / benevolent and / or other funding for works
- advice and information on more appropriate ways of purchasing fuel and energy
- advice and information on energy saving measures and tips that can be undertaken to save energy in the home
- income maximisation and benefit advice to identify any unclaimed benefits
- falls prevention advice
- advice on healthy eating, smoking cessation, alcohol consumption and exercise
