Cardiff Commitment – One Million Mentors is Back

Since 2019, the Cardiff Commitment have been working with One Million Mentors (1MM) and providing 1:1 mentoring support for students and young people in Cardiff. Prior to lockdown in 2020, 1MM had a presence in the majority of High Schools in Cardiff. Following a period of supporting over 18 year olds 1MM is now looking to re-engage with schools in Cardiff and continue with the great work pre-pandemic.

1MM aim is to recruit, train and deploy a million mentors to a million young people over the next ten years. The young people they will be working with in Cardiff will be drawn from across the Southern Arc, a priority for the Cardiff Commitment. Some of the organisations we work with through the Cardiff Commitment may have already had some involvement in the past but they are now looking to recruit more mentors to support the work here in Cardiff.

What to do if you are interested?

If you are interested in supporting this fantastic initiative and giving something back to young people who need support now more than ever, register HERE.

Once you sign up and complete the online training (which takes no more than 1 hour) you will then be invited to a workshop which you will need to complete within 3 months of sign up.

We ask mentors to support their mentees either virtually or face to face for 1 hour per month for between 9-12 months. You can read more about what we do HERE and take a look at some of our case studies.

If you think your business or organisation may be interested in supporting 1MM with a large pool of mentors please get in touch as we may be able to arrange a session to give staff and colleagues more information either in an online session or at the workplace.

If you have any questions or queries please contact Richard Jones – 1MM Regional Manager (richard.jones@1mm.org.uk)
