Building Capacity through Community Assets – A 1 day Conference
The BME Skills Project is pleased to present ‘Building Capacity through Community Assets’ – a 1 day conference on Wednesday 27th November 10.15-15.15 at the Pierhead Building in Cardiff. The event is Sponsored by Julie James AM, Minister for Housing and Local Government, who will also address the conference on the day. The project has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund through their Third Sector Skills Programme.
The BME Skills Project is a unique collaboration between four organisations, EYST, C3SC (Cardiff) SCVS (Swansea) and AVOW (Wrexham). The project aims to support BME community groups through the support of skilled volunteer mentors from within and beyond the BME community. This conference will showcase the success of the project and examine how all sectors can support BME Community Groups to reflect, learn and grow.
As part of the Conference, workshops and discussions will be held on meeting the needs of BME Community Groups, by key funders in Wales including:
- Community Foundation Wales
- Wales Cooperative Centre
- Building Communities Trust Wales
