Transracial foster care video produced by the RIC Hub

Cardiff and Vale Regional Innovation Co-ordination Hub (RIC Hub) are proud to share their latest piece of work and are particularly pleased to be sharing this during Black History Month.

The RIC Hub worked with Enfys*, a psychology and occupational therapy team that work with children and young people who are looked after, adopted, and on the edge of care, to capture the lived experience of one young girl growing up in a transracial foster placement. This heart-warming film addresses the challenges she has experienced and showcases how those challenges can be overcome.

We can all learn from this film. The story is an exemplar of the way in which children and young people are represented and supported in our Regional Partnership Board services and how services and delivery models are now changing to ensure inclusion.  This project was part funded by the Welsh Government’s Regional Integration Fund.
