Invitation to Focus Group – Experiences of Ethnic Minority* Graduates in Wales’ Labour Market

Thursday, 20th September, EYST Office, S Loudoun Place, SA1 4AB

Choice of times –   Either    11:45am-1:15 pm   or    5:30-7pm

Ethnic minority people are achieving more than ever in further education and higher education.  We want to better understand if those achievements are translating into success in the jobs market in Wales or if BAME graduates face additional barriers when entering the jobs market after completing further or higher education.

If you are an ethnic minority person who has completed higher or further education within the past five years (or will graduate within the next year), we would appreciate talking to you about your experiences in the labour market.  Your general feedback will be included in a report which will be published on EYST website and shared with partners and with public bodies such as Welsh Government. Our aim is that Welsh Government and HE institutions improve policies and practices for the benefit of ethnic minority students and graduates.

If you would like to attend the focus group next Friday, please email ginger@eyst.org.uk or phone/text 07903 074718.

If you prefer to complete a survey than attend a group interview, please visit this link:  https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/EYSTgrad/

*By ethnic minority, we mean any person with any heritage other than White British. This includes people with African or Asian heritage, people with mixed heritage, Gypsies, Travellers, or Roma and people from countries outside of the UK
