Over the last year, there has been a 69 per cent rise in the number of people experiencing food insecurity in Wales, and a 50 per cent rise in the number of people falling behind paying a bill.
Chaired by Jan Williams OBE, chair of Public Health Wales, we’ll consider the impact that the cost-of-living crisis is already having, and will have going forwards, on people’s health and wellbeing across Wales. Dr Sumina Azam, Public Health Wales, will provide an overview of the findings from their recent report, Cost of living crisis: a public health emergency, Helen Twidle will provide insight from Age Cymru about the impact that the cost of living is having on older people’s health and wellbeing and Dr Daniel Roberts will highlight the support Cwmpas provides community groups, enterprise and public sector organisations in Wales.
Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A, chaired by Jan Williams. There will be an opportunity to ask questions during the event using the chat function, or you can send in any questions in advance.
