MESSAGE FOR STAKEHOLDERS OF THE CARE COLLECTIVE

You may be aware from newspaper reports that staff of The Care Collective were advised on 19th February 2024 that redundancies across the organisation were being considered.

The Board of Trustees have now confirmed the difficult and sad decision that the organisation will cease trading at 31 March 2024.

These redundancies are being made due to significant and urgent funding difficulties faced by the charity and concerns regarding its viability in its current form.

We know this news is sudden and will come as a shock. We know you value the services provided by The Care Collective and the Cardiff & Vale Carers Gateway team and your needs are very much at the forefront of everything we do. Our priority has been to ensure the continuity of services to unpaid carers and their families, and we have been working with commissioners to this end. We have also been working with commissioners to discuss the continuation of The Cardiff & Vale Carers Gateway and discussions are ongoing. We will update you with any further information when it becomes available.

On behalf of the charity and its staff, we would like to express our thanks for your support and for placing your trust in us, in some instances, for many years. We are sorry we are not in a position to continue to deliver this important service any longer. We wish you well and we would like to thank you for all that you do to support unpaid carers within our communities.
