Free NHS Breast Screening for women in Grangetown and Fairwater

Breast Test Wales, the NHS breast screening service, will be inviting women from Grangetown and Fairwater for routine breast screening from early June, 2015 to late July, 2015.

Women who are aged between 50 and 70 this year, will automatically receive a postal invitation to attend for free screening if they are registered from the following surgeries: Clare Road Surgery, Corporation Road Surgery, Fairwater Health Centre and Grange Medical Centre.

Screening will be carried out at Breast Test Wales, 18 Cathedral Road, Cardiff.

Women who are aged over 70 will not automatically be invited for breast screening, but can request an appointment by telephoning Breast Test Wales on 029 2039 7222.

Anyone concerned about a breast change should visit their GP without delay.

Bowel Screening: Men and women aged 60 -74 are sent a home test kit to complete every 2 years

AAA Screening: Men aged 65 are invited for an ultrasound scan to check the size of their abdominal aorta

Cervical Screening: Women aged 25 – 49 are invited for a smear test every 3 years, women 50 – 64 are invited for a smear every 5 years.
