Providing bilingual and Welsh services for children, young people and their families (Third Sector Only)

23rd October 2014 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Children in Wales would like to inform you of this specialised training course being offered free of charge by the Welsh Language Commissioner. The course is suitable for managers, support staff, policy and PR officers, trustees and any officers who are responsible for promoting and facilitating use of the Welsh language within their organization.

This training is designed for anyone delivering services to children, young people and families, who wish to reach and serve Welsh speakers and bilingual families. The workshop will bring participants up to date with current legislation and the Welsh Language Measure, and will look at language as a rights issue within the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). It will provide the tools and ideas to address Welsh Language provision and language use. The course will also equip participants with ideas and tools for increasing their own provision, no matter what current capacity challenges there may be.
