What’s next for Volunteering in Cardiff and the Vale?
Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC), nominated as the project lead, submitted a bid to Welsh Government on behalf of a third and public sector partnership to support a project that would help to inform our future work and shape the development of services to support people to volunteer.
The partner organisations – C3SC, Cardiff Council, Glamorgan Voluntary Service (GVS), Vale of Glamorgan Council – planned to work together to increase coordination and cohesion of our volunteering activities as communities start to recover from the pandemic in order to sustain the levels of interest in volunteering that had arisen through COVID-19. The bid proposed a project that would enable the partnership to develop the regional volunteering offer by creating enhanced and flexible pathways into volunteering and working across the partner organisations to
- Develop services based on good practice and shared knowledge, building peer support and greater resilience for volunteering
- Share ideas, resources and contacts to help the development of a robust, enhanced methodology for supporting people in to volunteering and to continue to volunteer
- Develop a volunteering pathway that is reactive and adaptive to the needs and addresses the barriers for people in our local communities
