Recent research across Wales indicates that many individuals are unaware of the cancer support services available to them. In collaboration with Macmillan, professionals in the community are being trained as Macmillan Information Champions to help guide those in need. This initiative is currently being trailed in Cardiff and Vale, and Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board areas. The course aims to equip community workers with the knowledge to effectively direct people to local cancer services. Additionally, the new Knowledge Hub provides free resources for voluntary sector workers, and tailored training can be delivered in preferred locations or languages.
