Cardiff Third Sector Council will reconvene their Starting Well Network meeting on Wednesday 26th June, with a two hour online session between 10am-12pm.
Many families in Cardiff benefit from community schools that bring people with a shared identity together for learning opportunities that increase confidence and enhance community cohesion. The purpose of the session is to develop and strengthen links with and between community schools in Cardiff, leading to future partnerships. The session will feature a presentation from Magda Thomas, C3SC Volunteer Centre Support Officer and Trustee of Janusz Korczak’s Polish Saturday School, who will be talking about her experience of running a charity which provides language and culture education for Polish children in Cardiff, and we will share information on best practice in running community schools, governance – including different options for setting up a school – volunteer recruitment, funding opportunities and explore options for navigating the current challenging funding environment through partnerships, alliances and joint funding.
Alongside opportunities for networking, connection, and learning from peers, the Forum gives an opportunity for Third Sector groups working with children, young people and families to meet up and receive up to date information from guest speakers and presenters, provide insight and influence, develop solutions to local challenges, and make alliances.
Network members are always welcome to share your ideas and co-produce the meetings agenda. Please email Thomas Crockett at thomas.c@c3sc.org.uk with your suggestions of current or emerging items to discuss or explore at these meetings.
