The internet based communication programme will commence this Thursday 30 July 2015 for 5 weeks. The weekly programme is as follows (We’ll add information about each week’s theme as we receive it):-
‘How do you feel about reducing the speed limit in your area to 20mph in order to encourage walking and cycling?’
A Physical Activity factsheet ‘Stand more, be active and move more’ is now available on the Cardiff & Vale University Health Board (UHB) website and at http://www.cardiffandvaleuhb.wales.nhs.uk/dph-annual-report-2014. The factsheets contain lots of web-links and information about being more active and suggests actions for organisations, groups and individuals.
- Week 2 – 6 Aug – Alcohol with a focus on empty calories consumed
- Week 3 – 13 Aug – Food with a focus on sugar in sugary and fizzy drinks
- Week 4 – 20 Aug – Diabetes with a focus on ‘is diabetes preventable?’
- Week 5 – 27 Aug – Mood with a focus on how we feel affects what we eat
The factsheets (in English and Welsh) will be uploaded weekly and conversations started on Facebook and Twitter (#CAVPOWT). Dr Sharon Hopkins and other UHB colleagues will take part each week in a live conversation on Twitter (times and dates to be confirmed) and the Echo and Western Mail will include news features each Thursday.
