Have you ever felt public sector organisations and services aren’t getting it right for diverse communities?

Ever felt you wish there was more you can do to challenge and get involved?

Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC), Diverse Cymru and Race Equality First (REF) are working together as the Cardiff Third Sector Partnership to deliver a training event in June 2018 on practical ways you can use equality duties and Future Generations in Wales as third sector and community groups.

We plan to run this event once during the daytime and once in the evening.
This practical training event will be aimed at helping third sector organisations use equality duties in Wales and the Well-being of Future Generations Act to challenge discrimination, drive change and ensure public services design services to better meet the needs and wishes of diverse communities.

It includes tools you can use and opportunities for discussion and questions.

Topics we’ll be covering are:

  • Influencing Strategic Equality Plans and Objectives
  • Influencing through Equality Impact Assessments
  • Using and encouraging engaging of people from all diverse communities
  • Links between equality duties and the Well-being of Future Generations Act

Diverse communities include the 9 protected characteristics of age; disability; gender reassignment; pregnancy and maternity; marriage and civil partnership; race; religion or belief; sex; and sexual orientation.

Who should get involved?
We want to hear from all third sector organisations, not just groups that work on equality issues or with particular communities. This includes national charities, local charities anywhere in Wales, social enterprises, associations, co-operatives, self-help groups and community groups.

Get involved in any of the following ways:
